Dell PowerEdge XE9780, XE9780L, and XE9785L Deliver Top-Tier MLPerf™ Inference v6.1 Performance¹ Across Frontier AI Models

In this article, we present the latest MLPerf™ Inference v6.1 benchmark results¹ from three Dell PowerEdge platforms: the XE9780L (Intel® Xeon®, liquid-cooled), the XE9785L (AMD EPYC™, liquid-cooled), and the XE9780 (Intel® Xeon®, air-cooled). Each of the platforms is equipped with eight NVIDIA HGX B300 NVL8 270 GB SXM6 GPUs. The XE9780L was benchmarked across five frontier AI models; DeepSeek-R1, GPT-OSS-120B, Llama2-70B, Qwen3-VL-235B, and Wan 2.2 T2V-A14B; while the XE9785L and XE9780 were each tested on subsets of these benchmarks. Compared to Dell’s own v6.0 results, all three platforms with the B300 GPUs deliver significant performance gains driven entirely by software optimization. Critically, the air-cooled XE9780 achieves performance parity with both liquid-cooled platforms across all shared benchmarks, indicating that the cooling solution does not measurably impact GPU inference throughput for the MLPerf models tested.
