The -c option when executing a manual save allows the backed up data to be stored under the specified machine's client index. This is primarily for machines with multiple hostnames to catalog backups correctly. When the provided hostname is of a remote machine instead of a local machine, the remote and the local machines should be of similar platforms. NetWorker protects against this risk, but also requires at least one backup to be executed on both the remote and local machines to be able to identify if the platforms are compatible.
