nsrimportclient command examples

Check clients for conflicts

You can do a dry run to check. For this, omit the -w flag.

nsrimportclient -s source_server '*'

Check clients in a protection group

Clients can be selected based on attributes. For example to check all clients starting with the prefix itb that are part of the Bronze-Filesystem group you would write:

nsrimportclient -s source_server 'itb0*=="protection group list":Bronze-Filesystem'

Import a list of Clients with Search and Replace

Import a collection of clients that all have the prefix itb0 and make several modifications during the import without overwriting any clients from the same list that have already been imported.

nsrimportclient -s source_server -d dest_server -w -k d itb0\* -r "server network interface":hostnm1:=hostnm2 -r "protection group list":Bronze-Filesystem:=Silver-Filesystem

Back out a subset of imported clients

Lists of client names can be specified in an external file. Use the following syntax to back out a collection of clients imported on 2017-10-21:

nsrimportclient -w -f client_list_itb2.txt -b 2017-10-21
