Create a Disk Folder

Creating a disk folder manages unassigned disks in the new disk folder.

About this task

NOTE:Having multiple disk folders may cause storage to be used inefficiently.

Steps

  1. If the Dell Storage Manager Client is connected to a Data Collector, select a Storage Center from the Storage view.
  2. Click the Storage tab.
  3. In the Storage tab navigation pane, select Disks, then click Create Disk Folder.
    The Create Disk Folder dialog box opens.
  4. Type a name in the Name field.
  5. To select the disks to be managed, click Change.
    The Select Unmanaged Disks dialog box opens.
  6. Select the disks to be included in the disk folder.
  7. Click OK.
    The Select Unmanaged Disks dialog box closes.
  8. Click OK.
