Enabling or disabling the collection of software information and the system log

Prerequisites

You must be logged in to SupportAssist Enterprise with elevated or administrative privileges. See SupportAssist Enterprise user groups and Granting elevated or administrative privileges to users.

About this task

By default, the data that is collected and sent to Dell by SupportAssist Enterprise includes software information and system logs. If required, you can configure SupportAssist Enterprise to exclude the collection of software information and system logs from all devices.

Steps

  1. Point to Settings and click Preferences.
    The Preferences page is displayed.
  2. In Collection Data Settings, select or clear the available options for each device type.
    NOTE: By default, all Collection Data Settings options are selected.

  3. Click Apply.
